It was time again for a spatial overview of the temporary use projects in Vienna that we have supported and in some cases initiated. Kreative Räume Wien repeatedly initiates interim uses in Vienna on behalf of the city and accompanies them as they progress. Another of our central tasks is to make creative projects visible in the city.

But where exactly are they to be found? Here is an overview of some of the current creative temporary use projects in Vienna and an explanation below.

Map interim use

Kreative Räume Wien advises and supports the various projects at different levels. The focus is on advising people looking for space, users and property owners, on networking and public relations work and on raising awareness of the topics of vacancy activation and avoidance, interim use and cooperative use concepts.

Support at different levels: What does that mean in concrete terms?

? For some projects, we provide support right from the start-up phase and are on hand with tips and tricks right from the conception and development stages. You have the space – we support you in activating it.


? For others, we were able to initiate the use as a whole, i.e. accompany the process of vacancy activation from the outset – and work with the owners to find users for a vacant property.

? We draw attention to other interim uses mainly in our consultations for those looking for space and draw attention to the opportunities on site in the projects already underway – whether it is to participate, use a space, dock with your own idea or try out the initiative on site. We network the projects with interested parties and are in contact with them.

Please note: The map only shows current temporary uses and not permanent vacancy activations for art, culture, creative industries and social affairs. However, we support long-term vacancy activation just as much as creative interim use.
