Attention tradespeople: In the new district of Neu Leopoldau in Floridsdorf, historic buildings with a total of 35 workshops and 11 warehouses offer space for small craft businesses, manufacturing companies and start-ups.
New industrial estate Neu Leopoldau: former administration building, main workshop, locksmith’s shop
The Gewerbehof Neu Leopoldau consists of three neighboring listed buildings constructed in 1912. They were revitalized by the “Kaiser Franz Josef I. Jubiläumsfonds für Werkstättengebäude und Volkswohnungen” (KFJ) and converted into the “Gewerbehof Neu Leopoldau”.
The three buildings – the administration building, the main workshop and the metalworking shop – with a total of 35 workshops and 11 warehouses offer space for smaller craft businesses, manufacturing companies and start-ups. They are connected via a shared loading yard. Please note: Premises can only be rented on presentation of a trade license.
Role model: Mollardgasse industrial estate
The new Gewerbehof is the second of its kind to be operated by the KFJ: On Linke Wienzeile, the fund has been operating the “Jubiläumswerkstätten-Hof”, or “Gewerbehof Mollardgasse” as it is often called due to its address at Mollardgasse 85a, for around 100 years. It houses 150 workshops and offices as well as 40 residential units. The fund was founded in 1908 to promote business premises and living space for tradespeople (craftsmen).
New district: Former Leopoldau gasworks site in Floridsdorf
The new business park is located in the 21st district of Vienna at Marischkapromenade 3-5 on the site of the new Neu Lepoldau district. The area of the former Floridsdorf gasworks covers a total area of 13.5 hectares. Many existing businesses are located in the surrounding area, as well as Siemens City, ENERGY base, TECHbase and Krankenhaus Nord.
