14.4.2023
Vienna Art Week 2023 will take place from November 10 to 17, 2023. Together with numerous program partners, the festival will focus on Vienna’s diverse art scene for a week with free admission. And with a different motto every year. This year’s motto: passion in all its facets.
The program will be accompanied by the Open Studio Days on the weekend of 11 and 12 November 2023, for which an OPEN CALL is currently running.
Open Studio Days: Apply by April 25, 2023
Every year during Vienna Art Week, artists open their studios for two afternoons to give an insight into their work and their workspaces.
Artists will be selected from all submissions to keep their studios open and welcome visitors on the two days of the Open Studio Days – Saturday, November 11 and Sunday, November 12, 2023 between 1 and 6 pm. Priority will be given to those who did not take part in the Open Studio Days last year.
Interested in being part of the Open Studio Days this year with your own atelier/studio/space? The application period runs from now until April 25, 2023.

‘Passion’ as the motto of Vienna Art Week 2023
This year’s VIENNA ART WEEK motto revolves around passion in all its facets. And this is unlikely to leave anyone cold. Whether in love and relationships, work, politics or even religion – passion can be a driving force that inspires and motivates people to pursue their goals and desires with a radical level of commitment and dedication. But it can also be potentially destructive and dangerous. VIENNA ART WEEK 2023 aims to capture this ambiguity in all its facets and reflect the emotional state of our time from the private to the public sphere.

Review of Vienna Art Week 2022 in the demolition-ready office building in Wieden
“Challenging Orders” was the motto of VIENNA ART WEEK 2022, inviting visitors to examine the political, social and cultural status quo from different artistic perspectives. Especially in times when existing orders and systems are increasingly being shaken, the innovative potential of art in questioning prevailing structures and thought patterns through the use of creative strategies is particularly valuable.
Over 100 events with free admission were held in institutions, independent spaces, exhibition rooms and galleries at the headquarters of VIENNA ART WEEK 2022: a demolished office building became an exhibition venue for VIENNA ART WEEK and thus a unique creative experimental space on three floors and a total of 1,000 m2.
Kreative Räume Wien supported Vienna Art Week 2022 and the ‘House of Challenging Ordners’ in Wiedner Hauptstraße as a partner. We are already looking forward to another week of Art Week and many exciting spaces.
