The Real Estate Management Department (MA 69) of the City of Vienna is offering a single-storey building with outdoor areas in Donaustadt for interim use for a period of approx. 3 years. Utilization concepts in the fields of education, agriculture, food production or art and creative industries are in demand! A complementary mix of uses from the areas of agricultural production, urban gardening and, for example, art and culture is also possible and very welcome.
Former kindergarten – The building
The bungalow and covered terrace were built in 1954 as a kindergarten. The property also includes a spacious outdoor area, which currently consists mainly of lawns. According to the zoning plan, the associated green areas are also suitable for agricultural use and the single-storey wooden building sits on a concrete slab and has a basement. The property was last used as a clubhouse. Directly adjacent are the workshops and storage facilities of MA 42 (Vienna City Gardens) and the Hirschstetten flower gardens. There is currently no heating, but it is possible to install a wood-burning stove.
Utilization concepts
One or more users with a suitable interim use concept from the fields of education, social affairs, art and culture are being sought for the building. In view of the extensive outdoor areas, use for urban gardening or food production is conceivable. It is important that there are clear contact persons and structures. This could be an individual, but also an association, a society or a cooperative.
The interim use is scheduled to start in March 2024. If the bid is accepted, users are guaranteed a project duration of at least three years.
The property is owned by the City of Vienna, represented by MA69 – Real Estate Management.
