Grätzl Art Open on May 4, 2024
During the studio walk next Saturday, May 4, from 2 to 7 p.m., you will have the opportunity to get in touch with the artists directly in Grätzl, enter their workspaces, get to know their working methods and learn the stories behind the artworks.
The aim of the event is to make the diversity of galleries, studios and ateliers in the Grätzl district visible and to create connections. The general public has the opportunity to explore the growing and, for most people, still hidden variety of art initiatives and studios on a one-day walk.
From painting, sculpture, design, screen printing and jewelry to music, performance art and photography – the variety of artistic forms of expression in the Grätzl is impressive.
Studio walk in the Nibelungenviertel
The studio walk starts at 2 pm. The festival center is HDS59 at Hütteldorferstraße 59, where several designers and artists have set up a shared studio space in a former smithy. The building was constructed in the 1920s and was a blacksmith’s shop for a long time before numerous artists moved into the renovated architectural gem a few years ago.
There is a guided tour or you can put together your own tour. This year there are already 24 stops on the schedule, new art spaces and a total of over 100 artists are involved.

Save the Date: Grätzlfest in June
In addition to the Grätzl Art Open, the Grätzlgalerie also organizes an annual Grätzlfest in June at Kriemhildplatz (between the Stadthalle and the Schmelz allotment garden association). This year’s Grätzlfest 1150 will take place on June 15.
