We are continuing our cooperation with the Vienna Club Commission and IG Kultur Wien as part of the VCC focus groups with the new culture focus group.
The VCC focus groups are platforms for regular exchanges between event organizers, club operators and all other players in Vienna’s nightlife scene. In the third quarter of 2024, the topic will be “Preserving subculture – law versus practice”
Topic: Preserving subculture – law versus practice
Subcultural spaces and event collectives are often organized as associations in order to facilitate low-threshold club culture. However, sometimes commercial law gets in the way: as soon as clubs try to finance their activities by selling drinks (including on a donation basis), for example, the authorities may suspect a commercial activity.
Would you like to provide input on which framework conditions need to be adapted or made possible so that cultural freedom can continue to exist and new ones can be made possible? Then this focus group is the right place for you!
We look forward to your participation and active involvement in the focus group on “Preserving subculture”. It is also possible to apply to become a focus group manager.
The next VCC session will take place on Wednesday, June 12 at 17:30 at Kollektiv Kaorle. The respective focus group managers will be elected on site .
